Indictment filed against Nur al-Shams commander for attack killing Sgt. Major Yehuda Geto and injuring another.
The explosive device was detonated remotely using a cellular device. As a result of the explosion, the security forces’ vehicle overturned. Sergeant (Res.) Yehuda Gato, may his memory be blessed, was thrown from the vehicle and killed, and another person was injured in his chest and head and evacuated to the hospital. In addition to this incident, the defendant led a long series of terrorist activities, including managing and directing the Nur al-Shams battalion, recruiting operatives for the observation and production array, planting explosive devices, trading in weapons, and transferring funds and military equipment to terrorists. The indictment attributes to the defendant, among other things, offenses of intentional joint causing of death (the equivalent of murder), attempted intentional joint causing of death, heading an illegal association, trading in war equipment, and planting a bomb. The Samaria Military Court ordered the defendant’s arrest until the completion of legal proceedings against him. The military prosecution is accompanying the family of Sergeant (Res.) Yehuda Gato, may his memory be blessed, is in continuous contact with them and grants them all the rights due to them by law.
