Three Killed in Separate Overnight Crashes in Israel

Three people died and three were injured in two separate overnight traffic accidents in Rishon Lezion, central Israel, and northern Samaria.

Jerusalem, 3 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Three people were killed and three others injured in two separate overnight traffic accidents in central Israel and northern Samaria, including a fiery two-car collision that claimed two lives and a separate crash in which a 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed, emergency responders said.

According to Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency medical service, the first crash occurred in Rishon Lezion and involved two vehicles, one of which overturned and burst into flames. Paramedics arriving at the scene found two victims unconscious and suffering severe burns.

“A man was trapped inside the burning vehicle, unconscious,” MDA medics said. “On the side of the road was a young man about 20 years old, also unconscious. They were pulseless and not breathing and suffered severe burns to their bodies. We performed medical examinations, but unfortunately, we had no choice but to declare them dead.”

One victim was identified as a man in his 20s. The second fatality was burned beyond recognition.

Three additional victims were treated at the scene and evacuated to hospitals in central Israel. A man in his mid-20s was taken to the hospital in serious condition with extensive burns, while two 18-year-old women sustained moderate injuries and were transported for further treatment.

“At the same time, a man in his 20s was rescued from the burning vehicle, conscious and suffering from burns throughout his body,” MDA said. “We provided him with life-saving medical treatment and evacuated him to the hospital in serious condition.”

Israel Fire and Rescue Services said firefighters arriving at the scene encountered a fully engulfed vehicle and carried out a complex rescue operation using specialized equipment to extract three trapped passengers.

In the separate incident near Rehelim In Northern Samaria, a motorcyclist was struck by a vehicle on Highway 60. MDA medics attempted prolonged resuscitation efforts but were unable to save the 20-year-old victim.

“We saw the motorcyclist unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing, with severe injuries,” paramedics said. “We performed prolonged CPR, but unfortunately, we had to declare him dead.”

Police are investigating both accidents.
