Jerusalem, 1 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Following the elimination of Iran’s leader the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) Spokesperson announced the completion of the elimination of the senior leadership of the Iranian “terror axis” in the Middle East.
“The elimination of Ali Khamenei constitutes the peak of an ongoing effort to eliminate a series of senior leadership figures in the Iranian terror axis,” said the IDF, throughout “Operation Iron Swords,” including:
* Hassan Nasrallah – leader of the Hezbollah terror organization and most of the senior leadership of Hezbollah
* Yahya Sinwar – leader of the Hamas terror organization
* Mohammed Deif – commander of Hamas’s military wing and most of the senior leadership of Hamas’s military wing
* Mohammed al-Ghamari – Chief of Staff of the Houthi terror regime’s army
* A series of senior commanders in Iran’s security apparatus, including: Ali Rashid – commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, Chief of Staff of Iran, Hossein Salami, commander of the Revolutionary Guards, and others.
Thus, said the IDF, it has “closed the circle and eliminated all the senior figures of the Iranian terror axis in the various sectors. All of these senior figures operated for decades to destroy the State of Israel and, as part of their roles, planned, devised, and led the massacre of the Hamas terror organization on October 7 and dozens of additional terror plots against the State of Israel and the entire region.”
The senior figures of the Iranian terror axis, said the IDF, were eliminated in “targeted strikes and based on precise intelligence, from the outbreak of the war and in additional operations in the various sectors,” adding that “their elimination constitutes a significant additional blow to the Iranian terror axis and makes the Middle East a safer region for the citizens of the State of Israel and the entire world.”
