Nuriel Dubin, 27, a bride-to-be, was killed in northern Israel near Mahanayim Junction after being struck by shrapnel during a Hezbollah rocket attack.

Jerusalem, 25 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — As Hezbollah escalated its cross-border rocket and drone attacks, a woman killed in northern Israel on Tuesday evening was identified as bride-to-be Nuriel Dubin

Dubin, 27, was fatally wounded near the Mahanayim Junction after a barrage of some 30 rockets was launched toward the Rosh Pina area. Sirens sounded across the north as projectiles and interception attempts sent debris falling in open areas and along roadways.

According to initial findings, Dubin had been driving on Highway 90 when the alerts were triggered. Following Home Front Command instructions, she pulled over, exited her vehicle, and lay in a roadside ditch with her hands over her head. She was struck shortly afterward by shrapnel or fragments from an intercepted rocket.

“We arrived at a difficult scene. In a ditch on the side of the road, we saw a woman unconscious with severe shrapnel injuries,” said Magen David Adom medic Oren Ne’eman. “We performed medical assessments, but she had no vital signs, and we were forced to pronounce her dead at the scene.”

Ne’eman said another man approached paramedics moments later. “He told us that while he had pulled over to the side of the road during the siren, a missile fell nearby and he was injured by shrapnel,” he said. The man, who suffered a head wound, was evacuated to a hospital in light condition. A second person was also reported lightly injured.

Dubin had been living in the border community of Margaliot in recent years after growing up in Bnei Yehuda in the Golan Heights. She worked as a youth counselor and preschool caregiver and had served as a combat soldier in a reserve unit.

“With great sadness, we announce that Nuriel Dubin was killed this evening by fire from the Hezbollah Terrorist organization,” the Golan Regional Council said in a statement. “At this difficult time, the community embraces her family and loved ones.”

The Margaliot municipality said Dubin is survived by her parents, Yoram and Shoshana, her siblings, and her fiancé, Yedid Sabagi. The couple were engaged and had planned to marry in September.

More than 4,800 people in Israel have been injured by Iranian and Hezbollah barrages. Dubin’s death brings the number of people killed to 16. Another four Palestinians were killed in the Hebron area. In addition, one Israeli man in the Upper Galilee was killed by errant Israeli artillery fire targeting a Hezbollah position in Lebanon.
