Jerusalem, 25 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Starting today, Wednesday, Israel’s Ministry of Tourism is restoring shuttle ground transportation to the land border crossings of Taba – the crossing south of Eilat into Egypt – and Aqaba – the crossing north of Eilat into Jordan called the Rabin crossing.

The Ministry said that this is being done against the backdrop of the reduction in flights departing from Israel and following a situation assessment, which dealt with foreign tourists stuck in Israel.

Now, and especially in anticipation of Passover, when the demand to Leave Israel increases, the ministry is reinstating the transportation, explained the Ministry.

The shuttles will depart from Jerusalem every morning starting tomorrow (Wednesday), with tourists being asked to fill out a registration form in advance.

When the operation began, there were about 37,000 tourists in Israel.

As of Tuesday morning, there were about 8,500 tourists in Israel (who entered in the last 30 days).
