A new directive from the Prime Minister's Office is set to save 11 million days a year by expediting construction permit approvals.

Jerusalem, 11 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — In accordance with the Prime Minister’s directive, regulatory barriers to construction licensing will be removed – a move that is expected to save more than 11 million waiting days per year, said the Regulatory Authority in the Prime Minister’s Office.

(The above figure is based on the total number of new housing units submitted for approval per year.)

The Regulatory Authority in the Prime Minister’s Office formulated an outline, which was adopted by the Planning Administration, to accelerate planning and construction processes and shorten the time required to obtain a building permit.
