Hezbollah repeatedly and consistently uses medical institutions and equipment, particularly ambulances, to conceal terrorist activity. The organization uses medical vehicles and personnel as a cover to transport weapons and terrorists, thereby violating the special protection afforded to them under international law.
The IDF identifies that efforts to evacuate the population in southern Lebanon, intended to protect civilians, are making it difficult for Hezbollah terrorists to blend in and move around. Therefore, the organization has increased its use of ambulances as a means to transport terrorists between different locations, while concealing their identities.
Golani Brigade forces conducted searches in the Kantara area this week, following the elimination of armed terrorists who violated the ceasefire and posed a threat. During the searches, an ambulance used by the terrorists to conceal weapons was located. Among the items found were explosives, mortars, magazines, and a grenade.
In another incident last month, forces from the 7th Brigade encountered a Hezbollah terrorist who was operating in close proximity to an ambulance and carrying an RPG. The terrorist fired at the forces and was eliminated. Following the encounter, weapons used by the terrorist to establish a presence in the area and conduct “protected” combat from it were found in the ambulance.
Additional footage shows terrorists who survived IDF attacks, fleeing on foot and hiding in the area until an ambulance arrived, which collected them while they were lying on a stretcher inside a body bag, unharmed.
