Colonel M., said in his speech: “I, Colonel M., light this torch in honor of the fighters, in the air, at sea, and on land, in regular service and reserve. Working around the clock, in defense and offense, with courage and determination. The Air Force has conducted tens of thousands of sorties in enemy territory, and intercepted countless aerial threats.”

“Behind every mission – stand the people, the technical staff, administration, logistics, aviation, and construction, intelligence personnel, control and planning. In this ceremony, I say thank you. In honor of the synergy between the IDF branches, and our close cooperation with security organizations.”

“In memory of the heroes who risked their lives for the homeland. In honor of the families of career and reserve soldiers, who share the journey and the mission. And especially to my beloved wife and children, who give me strength every day anew. In honor of the citizens of Israel, who accompany us in the Middle East, with a silent prayer and great hope. We will continue to strike our enemies as needed, until victory. ‘The Lord will give strength to His people, the Lord will bless His people with peace.’ And to the glory of the State of Israel.”

Major Nurit Rokeach, said: “I, Major Nurit, daughter of Yehoshua and Esther, light this torch in honor of the fighters, the personnel of the ground forces, including my brothers and sisters from the Combat Intelligence Collection Corps operating on all borders and beyond. Identifying, directing, destroying threats, providing forces with real-time information – thereby strengthening our advantage on the battlefield.”

“In honor of the wounded who were injured in body and soul, and are now fighting another battle on the rehabilitation front, and in memory of those who could not bear the pain. In honor of my husband Ran and all the families – the parents, siblings, and friends of those serving, career and reserve personnel, and the medical teams of the hospitals, a tremendous and wonderful group of soldiers without uniforms. Behind every person who is injured, there is a supportive and devoted community whose lives change as well. We would not have been able to get through this without you.”
