Jerusalem, 20 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported that in the second quarter of 2026, compared to first quarter, there was a 15.4% increase in GDP (3.6% quarterly), a 14.4% increase in GDP excluding adjustments for production abroad (3.4% quarterly) and a 16.6% increase in business GDP (3.9% quarterly).

The CBS said the sharp increase in GDP in the second quarter of 2026 reflects “significant growth” in private consumption, public consumption, and exports of goods and services.

These increases follow large declines in the first quarter of the year due to the war with Iran.

There was also a 19.5% increase in public consumption spending (4.6% quarterly), a 14.7% increase in private consumption spending (3.5% quarterly), a 6.3% increase in fixed asset investments (1.5% quarterly), a 25.2% increase in exports of goods and services excluding start-ups and diamonds (5.8% quarterly) and a 22.7% increase in imports of goods and services excluding defense imports, airlines and diamonds (5.2% quarterly).
