Israeli Officials Hold Meetings in Abu Dhabi to Promote IndiaMiddle EastEurope Economic Corridor

Israel's Ministry of Transportation met with Abu Dhabi port and railway CEOs to advance the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor project.

Jerusalem, 17 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Transportation Director General Moshe Ben-Zaken met in Abu Dhabi with the CEOs of port and railway companies there with the aim of accelerating cooperation between Israel and the UAE.

The parties discussed promoting strategic cooperation in the fields of ports, logistics, and railways, and strengthening Israel’s position as a central link in the regional trade corridor, and the IMEC project the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor.

The discussion focused on the need created in the wake of the war to strengthen regional supply chains and create alternative, safer, and more stable trade and goods transport routes between Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

The IMEC project, also known as the “Peace Road,” is an international economic and transportation corridor designed to connect India, the Gulf States, Israel, and Europe through an integrated network of ports, railways, and advanced logistics infrastructure.

The State of Israel’s connection to the IMEC project is being promoted by Minister of Transportation Miri Regev, under the leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and in cooperation with the United States.
