Threat against Pride event participants thwarted – Haifa resident arrested The Fraud and Online Crime Unit in the Coastal District thwarted a targeted threat against the LGBTQ+ community.

During an initiated monitoring operation conducted by the police online, threatening publications against the LGBTQ+ community were detected. In light of concerns about intentions to harm attendees at Pride Month events across the country, and after obtaining the necessary approvals, a swift investigation was opened, leading to the identification of the suspect – a 37-year-old resident of Haifa. With the assistance of Haifa station officers, the suspect was located, arrested on suspicion of incitement to violence, and detained at the end of his interrogation. Based on the investigation’s findings, the police will request to extend his detention today.
