Upon receiving the report of his disappearance, Jerusalem District police officers began extensive searches in complex areas. During the searches, the officers managed to locate the elderly man lying in a wooded and steep area above the light rail tracks in the Ramat Eshkol neighborhood. According to an initial assessment at the scene, it appears the missing person had likely been lying there for many hours unable to move. Due to the terrain conditions, station officers, along with fire and rescue teams and with the assistance of additional units, extracted the elderly man from the location. He received initial medical treatment from medical personnel and was evacuated in light condition for further examinations and treatment at Shaare Zedek Medical Center.
