An Israeli citizen was arrested in the Netherlands on suspicion of participating in a global drug smuggling network that used mail to ship drugs to Israel.
Jerusalem, 13 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — An Israeli citizen (32, Amsterdam) was arrested in the Netherlands on suspicion of sending packages by mail containing drugs, from the Netherlands to Israel. The arrest came following a joint investigation by the Israel Police and the Netherlands Police, which lasted several months
The Israel Police said that, according to the investigation’s findings, the suspect is believed to be part of an organized global smuggling network that smuggled large quantities of drugs from various parts of Europe to Israel and other countries.
It further emerged, from the investigation, that the drugs were transported via packages and concealed using advanced and deceptive methods, indicating a high level of planning, coordination, and operational capability.
The investigation is still ongoing, and the police expect additional arrests to come in both Israel and various countries in Europe.
