Northern District police arrested an assailant in Hazor HaGelilit, seizing cocaine and NIS 39,000 cash after a financial dispute led to an attack.

Indictment Filed On 28/05/2026, a report was received regarding an assault and threats incident that occurred in Hazor HaGelilit. The investigation reveals that the incident occurred against the backdrop of a financial dispute between those involved. The suspect demanded payment for work performed, and when he did not receive the money, he assaulted the victim with a club, causing him injuries, while issuing threats. Upon receiving the report, Northern District Police officers deployed in visible and covert forces on routes and at city entrances to locate the suspect, who had fled the scene. A vehicle matching the description of the vehicle the suspect fled in was located in the Safed area. The officers stopped the vehicle and identified the suspect driver (Hazor HaGelilit, 30). During a search of his vehicle and belongings, the weapon suspected of being used in the assault was found, along with several folding knives. Further during the search, officers found a dangerous drug, cocaine, estimated to be worth tens of thousands of shekels, as well as NIS 39,000 in cash. Upon completion of the investigation and the establishment of an evidentiary basis, an indictment was filed against the suspect. In addition, a request was submitted for the confiscation of the seized money and the suspect’s vehicle.
