Breaking News

Jerusalem, 1 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — A new legislative amendment being promoted by the ministry of Health will allow healthcare professionals, it said, to “transmit vital medical information in cases where there is a real concern about future harm to the patient themselves or another person.”

The purpose of the proposed amendment to the law is to grant healthcare providers permission to provide information to relevant parties, while exercising discretion and balancing the value of privacy with the value of protecting life and bodily integrity.

According to the proposed amendment to the law, it will be possible to provide medical information required to prevent future actual harm to the police and social services departments, and, if necessary, to government agencies responsible for preventing domestic violence, including the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Investigating Domestic Homicide Cases.
