Jerusalem, 20 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — President of the State, isaac herzog and his wife Michal, and Minister of the Negev, Galilee and National Resilience, Yitzhak Wasserlauf, participated in a festive ceremony to mark the reopening of the Metula Municipality. This was after a long and difficult period in which Metula was evacuated from residents during the ‘iron swords’ War.
Metula is located on the border with Lebanon, in a region where the population was evacuated due to attacks by Hezbollah.
The ceremony was held in the presence of residents, the head of the Metula Council, David Azulai, the heads of the authorities in the area, and other guests, and was a symbolic and significant moment in the return to routine in Metula.
