Jerusalem, 15 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel successfully received the first images from the newly launched Ofek 19 satellite. The milestone comes about two weeks after its September 2 launch, following a series of planned system tests. On Sunday, engineering teams from Israel Aerospace Industries Space Directorate, the Ministry of Defense, and Unit 9900 of Military Intelligence activated the satellite’s advanced radar for the first time, transmitting images to IAI’s control station in Yehud.
The radar observation satellite will undergo further in-orbit testing before being formally transferred to Unit 9900 for operational deployment in the coming weeks.
