Jerusalem, 27 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The National Traffic Safety Authority and the Forum of Heads of Bedouin Authorities in the Negev held a professional meeting on Thursday to promote steps to reduce road accidents in Bedouin society.
During the meeting, the alarming increase in the involvement of young people in road accidents in the Bedouin society in the negev was discussed, and the urgent need to develop professional, realistic and tailored solutions was emphasized. The meeting was held as part of a series of steps to strengthen cooperation between Local Authorities, government ministries and civil society entities – with the aim of building joint and effective work tracks.
The participants noted that joint work and collective responsibility constitute the basis for dealing with the dangerous phenomenon, and that it is essential to develop professional tools and joint initiatives that will strengthen a safe driving culture and reduce injuries to young people on the roads.
A broad professional conference will soon be held to present the products and insights that emerged from recent meetings, alongside an examination of working mechanisms within the framework of roundtables with the participation of representatives of local authorities, government ministries, and professional and social entities.
