14 Kilometers of New Railway Tracks from the Czech Republic Arrive

Jerusalem, 22 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Approximately 1,700 units of new railway tracks, with a total length of 14 kilometers of track, that arrived from the Czech Republic will be integrated into a series of national transportation development projects that Israel Railways is promoting in cooperation with the Ministry of Transportation, including Track 431, the Eastern Track and the Fourth Track on the Ayalon.

The new tracks will enable a significant expansion of train traffic across the country, improving the frequency of lines and increasing passenger capacity, as part of the implementation of the Ministry of Transportation’s strategic plan to increase the number of annual train trips to approximately 300 million trips by 2030.

There are currently more than 1,500 kilometers of railway tracks in Israel, on which approximately 700 passenger trains travel daily, alongside work and freight trains. The Israel Railways Rail Division conducts rigorous periodic inspections using advanced measurement cars, which map the track route using laser beams and ultrasound waves, to ensure maximum safety for passengers and employees.
