The Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, held a situation assessment on Sunday in the Judea and Samaria Division with the Commander of the Central Command, Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth, the Head of the Technology and Logistics Directorate, Maj. Gen. Rami Aboudram, the Commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Brig. Gen. Kobi Heller, and the commanders of the regional brigades in the sector.
As part of the visit, the Chief of Staff held a situation assessment, during which the operational situation in the sector, counter-terrorism efforts, the forces’ activities, and their preparedness for continued operational missions were presented. In addition, the Chief of Staff held a discussion with the commanders of the regional brigades in the sector, addressed the multi-arena operational challenges and those in the Judea and Samaria sector, and expressed his appreciation for their ongoing operational activities in defending the country’s security and thwarting terrorism in the area.
“Alongside the ongoing fight against terrorism in Judea and Samaria, we are closely monitoring developments in Iran and maintaining high alert,” said the Chief of Staff. “We monitored the firing towards the Aqaba area today, and our air defense array is on standby to protect Israeli civilians. We are prepared for an immediate return to combat and will act with great force against anyone who harms us.”
“I want to express my appreciation to the forces fighting day by day in the area and achieving significant results,” he emphasized. “Thanks to you, the scope of terrorist incidents in Judea and Samaria is among the lowest in recent years. Alongside the determined fight against terrorism and alongside strengthening the settlements, nationalist crime harms security and the settlements. We must not agree to this, and we will continue to operate with the Shin Bet and the police to eradicate this phenomenon.”
“Alongside high readiness in multi-arena combat, the Judea and Samaria sector remains a constant focus,” he continued. “I am aware of the great challenges that lie before you in the coming period, during which you are required to maintain high readiness for rapid responses to emerging events and to preserve security and stability in the sector.”
