Terrorist in Double Murder Attack to Be Indicted Today
Terrorist Ahmed Abu al-Arub to be indicted for murdering Samson Mordechai & Aviv Maor, and three attempted murders in Emekim region attack.
Jerusalem, 29 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — An indictment will be filed against the terrorist Ahmed Abu al-Arub (34) a resident of Kafr Qallil near Nablus, for the combined terror attack in the Emekim region in which Samson Mordechai (68) and Aviv Maor (18) were murdered, as well as for three additional attempted murders.
On December 26, 2025, a combined attack took place in which Samson Mordechai was run over and killed in the city of Beit She’an (on the northern end of the Jordan River Valley south of Tiberias), and Aviv Maor was stabbed to death near Ein Harod. The combined attack was carried out by Abu al-Arub, a who was stopped by a passerby.
An investigation found that the terrorist infiltrated the State of Israel from the Jerusalem area several days before the attack and was employed by a resident of the area in construction work.
On the morning of the attack, around 05:30, the terrorist left together with his employer from Arraba in the Galilee to Mesilot settlement, where he worked at a private home under construction.
He later stole his employer’s vehicle and carry out the attack, after arming himself with a knife and a screwdriver that he took from the construction site.
In addition to Abu al-Arub, indictments will be filed against two of the terrorist’s brothers who were also staying in the State of Israel illegally, and against the man who employed him illegally, a resident of Arraba.
