Ma’ale Adumim: Citizen’s Collected Weapons Neutralized by Police

Weapons items collected by a citizen to his home during a trip in an open area were neutralized. Judea and Samaria District bomb disposal experts were called during the night to an apartment in Ma’ale Adumim, where weapons items were held by a citizen, which he had collected during a trip in an open area. He believed they were old items that did not pose a danger, but in practice, he caused a real risk to his life and the lives of those around him. The bomb disposal experts worked to neutralize the weapons items, and during this, officers from the Ma’ale Adumim station and additional forces evacuated several nearby buildings to prevent risk to the public and to allow the safe removal of the items for their destruction. Ahead of the Passover holiday and the travel season, during which the public is expected to visit open areas, forests, and nature sites, where weapons items or shrapnel may be found, it is emphasized to the public that even old, rusty weapons items, or those that appear harmless, can be deadly and it is strictly forbidden to collect them.
