Jerusalem, 12 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) said that, in an airstrike carried out overnight in Lebanon, it eliminated Ali Musallam Tabaj, the commander of the Amal Hassan Division. In the same strike, the terrorists Jihad al-Safira, deputy commander of the Amal Hassan Division, Sajjad al-Handasa, responsible for UAVs in the division, and other senior commanders in the division were also eliminated.

The terrorist Tabaja served as what the IDF described as a “senior and central” commander in operations against the State of Israel and was a significant pillar in the division and for the terrorist organization Hezbollah.

Tabaja enlisted in the terrorist organization Hezbollah and over the years filled a series of military roles both in the terrorist organization Hezbollah and in the division, including serving as deputy commander of the division.

In addition, he was involved in the rehabilitation process of the terrorist organization Hezbollah and maintained continuous and close contact with senior figures in the axis and Iranian entities.

The Amal Hassan Division serves as a military force used by Iran’s Quds Force to bolster the Iranian axis and exert force against the IDF and the citizens of the State of Israel.

The division constitutes an operational framework with significant capabilities for Hezbollah, said the IDF, and it is composed of thousands of terrorists with various identities from across the Middle East.

During the current conflict with Iran, the division took an active part in the fighting and launched numerous terror attacks from Lebanese territory in coordination with the terrorist organization Hezbollah, including launches of unmanned aerial vehicles and missile fire toward northern communities.
