Israeli Military Calls Up 100,000 Reservists

Jerusalem, 1 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) said it is preparing to absorb approximately 100,000 reservists for the continuation of Operation “Roaring Lion.’ Against Iran.

Its Northern Command has “significantly” increased the number of defense forces and defense and attack vehicles in its sector, which defends Israel’s borders with Lebanon and Syria. The forces have been reinforced in all those stationed along the border and in the security area in southern Syria and Lebanon.

In the Israeli communities of the region, task forces were opened to formulate a situational picture and make rapid decisions on the ground, with the aim of ensuring the security of the residents of the Galilee and the Golan.

The IDF Central Command, which covers Judea and Samaria, is increasing its forces and focusing its efforts on offensive activities to thwart terrorism. In addition, defense forces in the localities of the sector, on the eastern border and along the Seam, along with rapid response units, will be reinforced, while maintaining continuous contact with the authorities in the sector.

In the Southern Command, which covers Gaza, forces continue to operate and defend in the Yellow Line area in the Gaza Strip. At the same time, forces have been reinforced along the western and eastern borders, to protect residents of the south, the Arava valley which runs from the Dead Sea south to the Red Sea along the border with Jordan, Eilat and the western Negev. Defense departments have been activated in communities near the border fences.

The Yellow Line marks the areas where Israeli Forces are continuing to operate under the Gaza ceasefire agreement: Israel controls everything to the east, north and south of the line and Hamas and other terrorists are prohibited from crossing it.
