Jerusalem, 17 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Commenting on the assassination of Iran’s de facto leader Ali Larijani and Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of Iran’s Basij paramilitary force, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said, “The Iranians are safer without them.”

Sa’ar, who was hosting Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhkana in Jerusalem, added, “Larijani was also subject to American sanctions for the same reason, with a $10 million bounty on his head. We did it for free.”
