Jerusalem, 23 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) reported that, as part of a wave of attacks completed a short time ago (Monday evening) in the heart of Tehran, the Israel Air Force struck the central security headquarters of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), which was located within civilian infrastructure.
The headquarters was used by the Revolutionary Guards for coordinating district units responsible for enforcing the regime’s order and internal security. Additionally, the Iranian regime commanded battalions of the Basij domestic security unit from the attacked headquarters.
“Basij forces constitute part of the armed forces of the Iranian terror regime and have been responsible for years for carrying out terror outlines,” said the IDF. “Alongside this, the forces lead the central suppression operations of internal protests in Iran and particularly in the recent period, using severe violence, widespread arrests, and force against demonstrators.”
Prior to the strike, many steps were taken to minimize harm to civilians, including the use of precision weaponry, aerial observations, and additional intelligence information.
