Jerusalem, 10 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Hezbollah fired missiles toward central Israel and the Ashdod area after earlier salvos hit northern targets, including Haifa and Kiryat Shmona, according to Israeli media.

Sirens sounded in central Israel and parts of the south during the latest attack. One missile was intercepted, while another was believed to have landed in an open area, the report said.

The report said Hezbollah had launched dozens of missiles into Israel since the morning, including more than 15 aimed at Kiryat Shmona.

Israeli Military officials were quoted as saying the Air Force was seeking to disrupt additional launch attempts, with intensified air activity over Lebanon expected in the coming hours.

A military source cited in the report said the assessment was that Hezbollah was preparing to broaden its attacks to areas not struck earlier in the day, including the Haifa region, central Israel, Jerusalem, and other locations.

Local officials responded with new warnings. Ramat Gan Mayor Carmel Shama HaCohen said he would hold security assessments by Friday morning before deciding whether to shut schools again or move them to a smaller-group format in places lacking full protection.

Ashdod Mayor Yehiel Lasri said the city had received an IDF alert warning of possible fire from Lebanon toward central and southern Israel.
