Jerusalem, 23 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Monday morning, the Population and Immigration Authority’s search committee, headed by Interior Ministry Director General Israel Ozan, met to select the new Director General of the Authority and determined that candidate Boaz Yosef is the most suitable for the position.

Yosef, who served as Deputy Director General of the Authority several months ago, comes from the Ministry of the Interior, where he served in his last position as chairman of the committee called in Tiberias and even before that, as the Northern District Supervisor. He has held a number of senior municipal positions in his past.

Chairman of the Search Committee, Israel Ozan:

“Boaz Yosef has rich and diverse experience in leading large organizations, both in the municipal field and in Public service. With the experience he has accumulated over the years, the committee members believed that there was no one more suitable than him to lead the Population and Immigration Authority in its great challenges.”
