The high air pollution is explained by southwesterly winds causing dust transport from North Africa to our region.
In light of this, the ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection recommend that sensitive populations, including heart patients, lung patients, the elderly, children, and pregnant women, avoid strenuous physical activity outdoors. For the general population, it is recommended to reduce strenuous physical activity outdoors.
The ministries will continue to update the public as needed and according to forecast data and data measured at monitoring stations across the country.
