Jerusalem, 10 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel hopes its actions against Iran will help create conditions for the Iranian people to overthrow their government, but stressed that the decision ultimately rests with them.

“Our aspiration is to enable the Iranian people to cast off the yoke of tyranny; ultimately, it is up to them,” Netanyahu said Monday during a visit to Israel’s National Health Command Center. “But there is no doubt that through the actions taken so far, we are breaking their bones and we are still active.”

Netanyahu said that if Israel’s efforts coincide with the will of the Iranian people, it could bring about lasting change.

“If we succeed together with the Iranian people, we will bring about a permanent end… We will bring about change,” he said.
