Jerusalem, 14 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Cyprus has announced tonight that it has accepted an invitation to participate as an Observer in the upcoming Board of Peace meeting on Gaza, scheduled to take place in Washington on 19 February 2026.

In an official announcement, the government in Nicosia stressed that Cyprus’ participation is part of its consistent and active regional role since the onset of the crisis, through initiatives and concrete proposals submitted to international partners. As the European Union member state geographically closest to the region, Cyprus closely follows developments and, in practical terms, contributes to efforts aimed at stability and peacebuilding, the statement adds.

The meeting will review the next steps in implementing President Trump’s Peace Plan, which was adopted by the UN Security Council in Resolution 2803. The level of Cyprus’s representation, the government said, will be determined in consultation with the organizers.
