Total of 7,433 Casualties Since The Beginning of The War

Israel's Health Ministry has reported 7,433 casualties evacuated to hospitals since Operation "Roar of the Lion" began, with 116 still hospitalized.

Jerusalem, 8 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Health Ministry said 7,433 casualties have been evacuated to hospitals since the start of Operation “Roar of the Lion” on Feb. 28, with 116 still hospitalized as of 6 p.m. on April 8.

According to the ministry, those currently hospitalized include two patients initially listed in critical condition, 13 in serious condition, 25 in moderate condition, 74 with light injuries, and two still undergoing medical evaluation.

The ministry said 2,738 of the casualties were injured while trying to reach protected areas. Of those, four were seriously wounded, 73 moderately wounded, 2,644 lightly injured, and 16 were treated for anxiety.

The data also showed that older adults accounted for a significant share of the casualties, including 833 people aged 70 and over and 344 between the ages of 60 and 69. Another 339 casualties were between 20 and 29 years old.
