Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics reports a stable 60.2% employment rate in April 2026, with a slight rise in labor force participation.

Jerusalem, 19 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics released the data from the “Labor Force Survey” for April 2026.

Seasonally adjusted data for April 2026 (compared to March 2026, among those aged 15 and over):

Percentage of the labor force – 62.0% (61.9% in March).

Employment rate (Percentage of employed people out of the total population) – 60.2% (unchanged compared to March).

Percentage of unemployed in the labor force – 2.9% (2.8% in March).

Percentage of those temporarily absent from work all week by selected reasons: economic reasons – 26.5% (69.5% in March), military reserve duty – 11.1% (8.4% in March), other – 0.5% (0.7% in March).

Percentage of men temporarily absent from work all week by selected reasons: economic reasons – 25.3% (64.6% in March), military reserve duty – 20.7% (17.8% in March), other – 0.7% (unchanged compared to March).

Percentage of women temporarily absent from work all week by selected reasons: economic reasons – 27.6% (72.9% in March), military reserve duty – 2.9% (1.9% in March), other – 0.4% (0.7% in March).
