The alertness of a Jerusalem Border Police officer led to the arrest of a suspect in a car theft, after the driver breached a roadblock and overturned during the pursuit. A Jerusalem Border Police officer who was on his way to the base identified a vehicle that aroused suspicion.

The officer signaled the driver to stop for a check, but the driver began to flee, driving recklessly and endangering other road users. The officer initiated a pursuit, during which shots were fired at the vehicle. Simultaneously, a report was relayed to Border Police fighters operating at the Al-Jib checkpoint, who prepared to stop the vehicle and closed the checkpoint gates. The driver continued at high speed, broke through the checkpoint, hit the entrance gates, and overturned. Border Police fighters and the officer who continued the pursuit apprehended the suspect, a resident of the village of Biddu, and arrested him. An inspection revealed that the vehicle had been stolen earlier from Mevaseret Zion, and it was seized in a significantly damaged state.
