Jerusalem, 29 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Police uncovered an illegal cannabis cultivation laboratory containing about 300 plants inside a house in the Arab city of Shfar’am, authorities announced Thursday.

The discovery followed an undercover investigation launched as part of a targeted police effort to curb drug trafficking, particularly distribution to youth. Police raided the property on Tuesday and found multiple rooms converted into a drug-growing facility.

A 53-year-old man was arrested at the scene for questioning. Police also seized extensive cultivation equipment and advanced systems valued at tens of thousands of shekels.
