Israeli citizen indicted for aiding enemy by operating a news page for hostile entity via Al Jazeera link, funded and tasked with intelligence gathering.

Crime

During his interrogation, it emerged that while searching for job opportunities, the defendant approached Al Jazeera channel. Channel representatives then referred him to another individual who operated on behalf of a hostile entity to advance the execution of missions, before and during the “Iron Swords” war. Nator was asked to operate a news page under the guidance of this entity with whom he was in contact, where content would be published with the aim of echoing messages that serve the enemy. As part of the connection between the two, Nator received funds as payment for his work. After the outbreak of the “Iron Swords” war, the contact with Nator moved to a covert communication channel, and the latter was asked to collect information about missile impact sites, the number of injured in hospitals, the number of fatalities, as well as information about public sentiment among the Israeli public. This information could significantly harm the security of the state and its citizens. At the conclusion of his investigation, the Central District Attorney’s Office filed an indictment today with the Central District Court in Lod.
