Drug and Weapons Drone Smuggling Network Disrupted, Six Arrested

Six Israeli citizens arrested for smuggling dozens of weapons and large drug quantities into Israel using drones and vehicles since 2024.

Jerusalem, 24 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Six Israeli citizens were arrested for their alleged roles in what the Israel Police called an “infrastructure of a network” of smugglers of weapons and drugs through the country’s borders with Egypt and Jordan. The network was only recently exposed.

An investigation by the police and the Shin Bet (Israel’s anti-terror General Security Service) revealed that during the years 2024 to 2026, members of the infrastructure were involved in dozens of smuggling operations of weapons and drugs using drones and vehicles, in which dozens of pistols, dozens of M16 rifles, three machine guns, thousands of rounds of ammunition of various types and large quantities of drugs were smuggled into the territory of the State of Israel.

Some of the smuggling operations, however, were thwarted by Israeli security forces.

The investigation also revealed that the defendants purchased, possessed and traded dozens of weapons and weapons, as part of their involvement in the Smuggling Operation.

At the end of their investigation, indictments were filed against the six suspects.
