An assassination attempt on a criminal background was thwarted: Border Police fighters from the Central District and police officers from the Central District seized a suspect armed with a pistol with a round in the chamber in Lod.

Four suspects were arrested during an initiative operation by Border Police fighters from the Central District together with Lod police officers. The fighters heard several bursts of gunfire, quickly engaged, and during searches they conducted, identified a suspect holding a pistol. The fighters quickly subdued the suspect, arrested him, and seized the pistol in his possession, which had a round in the chamber. Subsequently, the forces conducted further searches in the area, during which several additional suspects and a vehicle were located. Inside the vehicle, live ammunition and a license plate with a black sticker affixed to it were found, raising suspicion of an attempt to conceal the vehicle’s identity. All four suspects were arrested and transferred for further investigation at the Lod station.
