15 Turkish Citizens Working Illegally in Israel Detained

Israel's Population and Immigration Authority detained 15 Turkish nationals working illegally at a Rehovot construction site, launching investigations into.

Jerusalem, 27 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — During an enforcement activity carried out by the Population and Immigration Authority in Rehovot, 15 foreign workers without work permits, Turkish citizens, were located at a construction site.

Some of the workers only held tourist status, some had asylum applications already denied, and some had abandoned their legal employer.

Following the findings at the site, a criminal investigation was opened against the developer, the executing contractor, and the manpower company that provided the workers.

The foreign workers were transferred to continue the deportation process.
