Jerusalem, 26 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli medical technology company Nitinotes announced the first commercial use of its EndoZip automated suturing system in Spain, marking a new stage in its European rollout after receiving CE certification. EndoZip is designed to standardize minimally invasive weight-loss procedures by automating key suturing steps.

The procedures for endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) were performed at Madrid Sanchinarro University Hospital by Professor Gontrand López-Nava, a leading bariatric endoscopy specialist who also participated in the system’s early clinical trials. The company said the expansion reflects growing adoption across Europe as ESG gains traction as an alternative to surgical and drug-based obesity treatments.
