Jerusalem, 12 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli and German officials in Jerusalem unveiled a “5-Point Plan” aimed at strengthening cooperation across technology, industry, and infrastructure, and also making Germany Israel’s main gateway to Europe.
Israeli Minister Economy and Industry Nir Barkat said the plan is “a powerful moral and economic expression of support” during a time of war. Germany’s Minister of Economics and Energy Katrina Reich called Germany “the future European hub for Israeli startups.”
The program includes direct partnerships between startups and German industrial firms, shared research in AI, quantum computing, biotech, and digital health, enhanced energy and infrastructure cooperation, and a fast-track business forum to remove regulatory barriers.
Bilateral trade, currently nearly €9 billion ($10.3 billion) is expected to grow significantly under the initiative.
