Jerusalem, 14 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Innovation Authority has selected the Israeli-Dutch company Nebius to establish a national supercomputer, a major step in advancing the country’s artificial intelligence capabilities. With an investment exceeding NIS 500 million ($114 million), including an NIS 160 million ($45 million) government grant, the project will provide high-performance, cost-effective computing power to startups, researchers, and public institutions.
The launch is part of the second phase of the National AI Program, which includes Moonshot research projects, a national AI research institute, and advanced AI training in the military. The Nebius-powered infrastructure is set to begin operations in early 2026.
