Jerusalem, 30 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Knesset Finance Committee on Monday approved a plan to gradually cancel the exemption from import taxes on smoking products brought into Israel. Currently, adults entering the country can bring in limited quantities tax-free—200 cigarettes or 250 grams of tobacco, and small amounts of e-cigarette liquid or disposables. Beginning January 16, 2027, those limits will be halved. On June 1, 2028, the exemption will be eliminated entirely.
