Jerusalem, 17 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel has met a key milestone in its national five-year plan to strengthen the nursing sector, the Health Ministry said on Monday, reporting 7.05 nurses per 1,000 people in 2025.

The ministry said 71,387 licensed nurses under age 67 are currently working nationwide, reflecting steady workforce growth alongside expanded training programs. Around 13,000 students are enrolled in nursing studies, including 3,400 who began this year, with more academics entering the field through conversion tracks. Further boosting the system, 2,800 nurses passed government licensing exams in the last month.
