Jerusalem, 14 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Minister of Finance, the Ministry of Construction and Housing, the Ministry of the Negev, the Galilee and National Resilience, and the Jewish Agency launched the “Demographic Growth Basket” in the rural area of Israel as part of a strategic plan to strengthen settlement and encourage demographic growth for the communities of the Tkuma Region – areas near Gaza. The plan has a budget of 560 million Shekels ($165 million), and a state guarantee will be provided for a loan to be raised by the Jewish Agency in the amount of up to one billion Shekels ($290 million).

The growth basket, which was formulated by the Tkuma Administration following the severe damage to the localities of the region during the “Iron Swords” War.

As part of the plan, an integrated process will be implemented to strengthen settlement and encourage demographic growth in the region.
