Israel’s Food Supply Stable In Spite of War
Israel's Ministry of Agriculture confirms stable food supply chains, including dairy and egg production, amidst the third week of war.
Jerusalem, 12 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security reported that the agricultural supply chains continue to operate as usual in the country as the war with Iran moves into its third week, including in the dairy and egg industries, with the collection of milk from dairies and eggs from chicken coops continuing continuously. The activity of slaughterhouses and abattoirs also continues as usual, alongside the continuation of agricultural import and export activity.
This determination came after Thursday morning’s daily situation assessment was held at The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, headed by the Ministry’s Director General, Oren Lavi, and with the participation of the Director General of the State Comptroller’s Office, Brigadier General (res.) Yishai Vaknin, and his office staff, who received an overview of the ministry’s activities and the steps taken to maintain functional continuity of the agricultural sectors during an emergency.
The ministry continues to conduct ongoing daily situation assessments in order to ensure the food security of Israeli citizens, while maintaining a policy of “full shelves” with fresh agricultural produce.
