National Security Council calls on all Israeli citizens abroad to take increased precautions
Following Iran's escalation, Israel's National Security Council advises all citizens abroad to take increased precautions against potential attacks.
In light of the escalation with Iran, the National Security Council calls on all Israeli citizens abroad to take increased precautions in any destination worldwide.
The escalation with Iran increases the likelihood that the Iranian regime will act more forcefully to carry out attacks abroad against Israeli/Jewish targets, starting immediately. Alongside this, and in light of past experience, it is possible that the motivation to harm Israelis Abroad will increase from other terror elements, alongside local initiatives (including from lone attackers).
In light of the above and according to a situation assessment following the events, the NSC calls on all Israeli citizens abroad to take increased precautions in any destination worldwide. Furthermore, the NSC draws the Public‘s attention to travel advisories and recommends examining in advance the level of travel advisory applicable to various countries, as well as the recommendations of the National Security Council appearing on the NSC’s website, with an emphasis on:
A. Avoiding real-time publication on social networks of details about accommodation location, lodging, leisure plans, or any detail that could provide up-to-date information about future plans and location.
B. Avoiding arrival at events/sites identified with Israel/Judaism that are not secured.
C. Paying attention to what is happening around you when staying in areas identified with Israel/Judaism (Chabad houses, synagogues, restaurants), with an emphasis on unusual activity (suspicious objects, foreign elements).
D. In case of a threat or attack, report to the local security forces as soon as possible (it is recommended to know in advance the emergency numbers in the country where you are staying).
E. Avoid entering areas with an openly hostile nature towards Israelis and Jews (neighborhoods, districts, and markets in countries/areas with public opinion hostile to Israel).
Follow the detailed recommendations of the NSC, for each country as published on the website.
