Jerusalem, 31 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, recently hosted the Commander of the US Military’s CENTCOM (Central Command), Admiral Brad Cooper.
During the visit, the commanders discussed the importance of cooperation between the armies in the campaign against Iran and coordinated the next steps, said the IDF and Zamir expressed his appreciation for the achievements of the forces’ joint operation and emphasized that the cooperation between the bodies is unprecedented and essential.
In a statement, CENTCOM said that the two leaders discussed progress made during ongoing operations to eliminate Iran’s ability to project power in meaningful ways outside its borders. They also reaffirmed the strength of the U.S.-Israel defense partnership and emphasized the importance of continued coordination.
“The IDF and the United States Army fight together out of shared interests and values, with full trust, mutual respect, shoulder to shoulder – they are true friends,” said the Chief of Staff. “In synchronized and coordinated action, we attack and harm the Iranian terrorist regime together and bring them to strategic isolation and a point of weakness they have never been in.”
“We are in close, daily contact with our partners in the United States military as part of the combat watch,” he continued. “There is a common interest here – a commitment to removing an existential threat from Israel and the entire region.”
US CENTCOM “directs and enables military operations and activities with allies and partners to increase regional security and stability in support of enduring U.S. interests.”
The region of the world it covers includes the Middle East and Israel.
