Northern District police continue to operate in Kafr Kanna following violent incidents on Saturday night. During the night, 6 weapons were seized, several suspects were arrested, and two businesses whose operation could endanger public safety were closed.
Since Saturday night, in light of a series of violent incidents between two feuding families in Kafr Kanna, Northern District police have been operating in the village, entering shooting scenes under fire and working to restore quiet to the area.
After over 40 individuals involved in the violent conflict have been arrested since Saturday night, forces operated last night at several locations to locate weapons and closed two businesses whose operation could endanger public safety.
During a search in the home of a village resident associated with one of the families, two pistols with magazines full of ready-to-use bullets were found. A suspect was arrested.
Concurrently, in one of the village neighborhoods, a vehicle was stopped for inspection with two local residents inside. A Glock pistol with 8 magazines was found in the vehicle. Both suspects were arrested.
During a search in a compound belonging to a criminal family, two pistols, a hunting rifle, a grenade, and ammunition were found. Two suspects were arrested.
These offensive operations against the perpetrators of crime are in addition to another operation yesterday afternoon, during which a Glock pistol and several Molotov cocktails ready for use were found, and two suspects were arrested for possessing them, with the assistance of a drone from the air.
Superintendent Ran Ofir, Commander of the Jezreel Valley Subdistrict: “The series of severe incidents that occurred on Saturday night will receive an appropriate response from the Israel Police. The dozens of arrests, the 7 weapons seized, and the forces’ operations prove our determination in dealing with the crime elements in the village.
The fight against crime in Arab society is a top priority for the Northern District, and we will continue to act against all criminal organizations and offenders by deploying dedicated task forces, intensive intelligence operations, extensive seizures of illegal weapons, arrests, and the filing of indictments.
It is important to emphasize that the fight against crime in the Arab street requires the attention of all bodies that need to convene and address it in terms of prevention, legislation, and the return of technological tools for police use.”
