Numerous Makeshift Weapons Found in Pre-Ramadan Prison Search
Pre-Ramadan prison search in Israel's Ganot prison uncovers numerous makeshift weapons, including sharpened blades, pointed plastic, and an improvised needle.
Jerusalem, 18 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — As part of preparations for Muslim holy month of ramadan and ongoing operational activity against the security prisoner population, a focused activity was carried out yesterday, Tuesday, at the Ganot prison in the Negev by the Israel Prison Service, in cooperation with fighters from the Southern District Unit (District Unit).
During the operation, prohibited items were located and seized which could harm prison personnel, including sharpened and pointed metal blades, pointed plastic, an improvised needle, and written material.
Ramadan, which began Tuesday night, includes fasting every day of the month during the daytime.
